“Yesterday, a 16 year-old girl was being referred to us (the Love146 “Pink Home”). She has been trafficked from one resort to another, rescued, and now has a court case against her pimp. Regretfully, I said we could not accept anymore girls at this time; we had already reached our capacity. The girl was there in the municipal hall, shivering, alone. But this particular Child, we will not be able to serve. And our hearts bleed. If only there were more safehomes.”

Over and over we have heard the cry for more safehomes, and more trained caregivers. Love146 answers this cry through training aftercare workers, supporting existing safehomes, opening the “Pink Home” and this year, we will begin construction of our “Rounded” safehome in the Philippines. The rounded design promotes a sense of belonging and community, where no child feels left out or isolated . We are so excited about this home. Through education, funding and hard work, we will one day be able to welcome many children, like that 16 year old girl, into a new home.

With the need for safehomes, comes the need for trained aftercare workers. Love146 continues to empower and equip caregivers through our training programs. These training courses provide the foundation of care for children and their restoration into society as fully empowered individuals. They also empower the caregivers to further prevent, protect and restore child sex trafficking survivors, ensuring their future as “whole” individuals in society. This year Love146 will train over 45 caregivers throughout South East Asia.
